Please read ASAP re: Special Event Station

Hi Everyone:

Sorry for the many emails today, but this one has a bit of urgency to it.

Jeanne as just heard back from the library about us setting up there for our VC7SJAM special event station for Sir John A Macdonald’s 200th birthday on January 11, 2015. They are very excited about us thinking that we would think of them. To make a long story short and the reason for this urgent email is they have a deadline this Monday to promote the event in their brochures.

Our goal is to man two stations, one at Mackie Library in North Delta, and another station at Ladner Library. I’m not asking for a commitment at the moment but can you email me if you think you can participate sometime on January 11 in this event. We need a rough count so we know we can man two stations. Please email ASAP so we can confirm with the library we will have both stations running and include us in their promotional works. We can work out the details of bands and modes later. This will also be a good showcase for the hobby as they will setup the rooms for us, so visitors can come see and ask questions of what were up to. This has possibilities of promoting the spring amateur radio course.

Now to make things even more exciting for showcasing amateur radio they have also asked if they could borrow some older equipment to display amateur radio for the month of January. All equipment will be locked in glass cabinets so it will be safe. If you have something they can borrow for the month that your not using please email me.

The library is between this project so let’s us get behind this exciting project.

PS: They might even spring for a 200th birthday cake for us.
