The 2012 Celebration of Light is right around the corner. This year the event does take place on July 28, August 1 and August 4th. VECTOR does have
a significant role in this event, and we would like to keep the tradition going.
We are going to require a large number of operators on each night, this year, we are making some very significant changes. We will no longer have
access to the Coast Guard Station (all of the land operations have been moved out of the building). We are currently looking for a new place to have
an Incident Command Post that the stake holders we are involved with would agree to use, and that all of these people would be let into the
facility. We should have this identified in the next week or so. In the event we cannot find a suitable facility, the fall back would be all the agencies
moving back to our EOC and Radio Room. In any event, we will overcome the challenges, and move forward with one of the best CoL events yet.
If you are available for any or all of these nights, if you could send me an email atjforsyth@vectorradio.ca , I would appreciate it. In the email if you could tell me the nights that you are available, if you have a favorite position or a favorite side of the beach, I would appreciate it. We will be setting up a formal briefing for all of our volunteers (VECTOR and ESS), on the 18th of July.
Anyone wanting more information, send us an mail and we will answer your questions.
This is an event that our members typically have some fun at, so I would encourage you to come out have some fun and hone your communications
skills.
Cheers,
Jim
